What does it mean to be an effective educator?

My main takeaway from my teacher education at HGSE is that teaching is a dynamic process. As my understanding of urban communities, my identity as a person of color, my identity as an urban educator, and my understanding of the public education system for urban youth evolves, I will challenge myself to ensure that the practices I employ to be an effective educator evolve as well.
