DIY Girls and Leadership

In 2014, I had the opportunity to join and soon after lead, DIY Girls, a nonprofit aimed at providing hands-on STEM education and mentorship to girls in my hometown of Pacoima, California, where a majority of the students are Latinx, low-income students. Despite having little prior experience running such an organization, I worked harder than I thought I was capable of to help transition the organization into a period of financial and programatic sustainability.
